Born and raised in Chicago, Camron Smith is a two-time Emmy Nominated sports reporter with a true passion for professional, collegiate and high school sports. Currently, Camron is a freelance fill-in sports anchor at WBBM's CBS 2 in Chicago along with being a freelance sports reporter and color commentator for multiple sports networks in Chicago.

After graduating with a B.A. in Communications from Southern Illinois University (Carbondale, IL) in 2007, his devotion and passion to learn more about the industry led him to the Chicago sports market. Additionally, Camron has experience as a sideline reporter for IHSA football contests for Comcast CN100's "Game of the Week" and as a color commentator for the IHSA's television network during the boy's basketball 1A and 2A state championship games (2011 - 2013 season) and the boy's basketball 4A state championship games (2012 - Present). 

Camron has worked as a freelance sideline and on-site reporter for the Big Ten Network during the 2012 Big Ten football season and the 2012 - 2013 Big Ten basketball season. Camron's goal to become one of the best sports personalities for this generation and beyond, fuels his work ethic.

 

Specialties: Experienced sports reporter that's excellent in advanced writing, research, sports reporting and production skills on various media platforms; proficient in Avid and Final Cut editing systems.
